Our Story

HSM first began in 1997 with our founder’s passion for missions and a desire to facilitate mission trips for his congregation. But as Lyle Mullins and his team traveled overseas, they came face to face with intense need and desperate hunger. Burdened by what they’d seen, they wanted to help meet others’ physical needs as well as their spiritual needs. So, when the door was opened for us in 2001, we expanded into hunger relief.

Nearly 30 years and over 10 million meals later, we are still fueled by this need, the support and hard work of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and God’s great love for humanity.
